Repair and restoration are not the same scope

Repair addresses a defined failure such as a tear, scratch or open seam. Restoration may include cleaning, color work and treatment across a larger surface so the repaired area fits the condition of the complete piece.

Choose the method after inspecting the leather

Protected leather, aniline finishes and vinyl-backed components respond differently. Previous conditioners or coatings can also affect preparation and adhesion, so the material history matters.

  • localized repair
  • color restoration
  • panel replacement
  • partial reupholstery

Preserve the piece when its structure still works

A comfortable frame and sound suspension may justify restoring damaged upholstery. When structure, foam and covering have all failed, the estimate should make clear whether broader rebuilding remains economical.
